The short version

  • VNTG is a vintage photo and video editor for iOS. These terms are the agreement between you and VNTG for using it.

  • You don't need an account to use the App. By downloading or using it, you agree to these terms.

  • The App is free to download and includes free features. Some features require a paid PRO subscription.

  • Subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple through your Apple ID. You manage or cancel them in your Apple ID subscription settings, not through us. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel.

  • Your photos and videos are yours. You keep all rights to what you create, and you can use your edited content however you like, including commercially.

  • The App, and its cameras, filters, effects, fonts, names, and designs, are ours. Don't copy, resell, or reverse-engineer them.

  • The App is provided "as is". There are limits on our liability, and a section of Apple-required terms applies because you got the App from the App Store.

1. Agreement to these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and VNTG governing your access to and use of the VNTG iOS application and any related services we provide (the "Service"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

If you use the App on behalf of someone else, you confirm you are authorized to accept these Terms for them.

2. Eligibility and age

The App is not directed to children under 13, and you must be at least 13 years old to use it. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the App only with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms. By using the App, you represent that you meet these requirements.

3. License to use the App

Subject to these Terms, VNTG grants you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to download and use one copy of the App on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, for your own use. This license is governed additionally by the Apple-required terms in §19 and by the App Store Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.

You may use your edited photos and videos for any lawful purpose, including personal and commercial use. This license is about the App and our content, not about the work you create with it.

4. No account required

The App works without sign-up or login. To operate, it generates a random, anonymous identifier on first launch (described in our Privacy Policy). You are responsible for activity that occurs through your device and your copy of the App. Because there is no account, keep in mind that subscription entitlements and in-app data are tied to your device and your Apple ID, not to a username and password with us.

5. Your content

"Your Content" means the photos, videos, and other material you import into, create with, or edit in the App.

  • You own Your Content. We do not claim ownership of it, and using the App does not transfer any rights in it to us.

  • Editing happens on your device. As described in our Privacy Policy, we do not upload Your Content to our servers. The one exception is an image you choose to attach to a support request, which you send to us so we can help you.

  • Limited license for support. When you attach an image to a support request, you grant us a limited license to store and use that image only to respond to and resolve your request.

  • You are responsible for Your Content and for having the rights to use any photos, videos, faces, trademarks, or other material you import or publish. Don't use the App with content you don't have the right to use.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • copy, modify, distribute, sell, rent, sublicense, or create derivative works of the App or its assets (cameras, filters, effects, fonts, presets, designs, or code);

  • reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App, or attempt to extract its source code, look-up tables, or assets, except where this restriction is prohibited by law;

  • circumvent, disable, or tamper with any subscription gate, entitlement check, usage limit, watermark, security, or content-protection mechanism, or otherwise access PRO features without an active subscription;

  • use the App to create or distribute content that is unlawful, infringing, defamatory, hateful, harassing, sexually exploitative of minors, or that violates the rights of others;

  • use automated means to access the App, or interfere with, overload, or disrupt the App or our backend services;

  • misrepresent your affiliation with VNTG, or remove or alter any proprietary notices.

We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach this section (see §16).

7. Subscriptions, billing, and free trials

Some features of the App require a paid subscription ("PRO" or "Subscription").

  • Sold and billed by Apple. Subscriptions are sold through the Apple App Store and billed to your Apple ID. We do not process your payment and never receive your payment card or billing details.

  • Current prices and plan options (for example, monthly and annual plans) are shown in the App at the time of purchase, in your local currency. Apple may add applicable taxes.

  • Automatic renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period at the then-current price unless you cancel. Apple charges your Apple ID for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.

  • Free trial. We may offer a free trial (for example, a limited-day trial on the annual plan). If you do not cancel before the trial ends, the Subscription converts to paid and Apple charges your Apple ID automatically. If we offer a trial and you have already used a trial for the same or a related product, you may not be eligible for another. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a Subscription.

  • Manage or cancel. You manage and cancel your Subscription in your Apple ID subscription settings (on your device: Settings → your name → Subscriptions, or in the App Store). To avoid the next charge, cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep PRO access until the end of the paid period already in progress. We cannot cancel an App Store subscription for you.

  • Price changes. If we change Subscription prices, the change takes effect on a subsequent billing cycle, and Apple will seek your consent where required by the App Store rules. Your continued Subscription after a price change that has been disclosed to you constitutes acceptance of the new price.

8. Free features and PRO

The App is free to download and includes a set of free features. A PRO Subscription unlocks additional features, which currently include things such as the full collection of premium cameras, multi-photo editing, maximum-quality exports, and removal of daily save limits. The specific features included in the free tier and in PRO may change over time as we add, improve, or retire features. We will not materially reduce the core functionality you have already paid for during a paid period.

9. Refunds

Because Subscriptions are sold by Apple, refund requests are handled by Apple under the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. You can request a refund through Apple (for example, at reportaproblem.apple.com). VNTG does not control Apple's refund decisions.

Where we are able to, we will consider goodwill refund requests on an individual, case-by-case basis, granted at our sole discretion. Except where required by law, all sales are otherwise final.

10. Intellectual property

The App and everything in it that is not Your Content, including the software, the camera simulations, filters, effects, look-up tables, fonts, presets, user interface, designs, graphics, text, the "VNTG" name and logo, and all related intellectual property, are owned by VNTG or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms grant you the limited license in §3 and nothing else. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

The camera and filter names in the App are VNTG's own coded names and do not represent, and are not affiliated with or endorsed by, any third-party brand or manufacturer.

11. Third-party services

The App can connect to third-party services at your choice, such as Google Photos and Dropbox for importing, Apple iCloud for optional sync, and the Apple App Store for purchases. Your use of those services is governed by their terms and privacy policies, not ours, and we are not responsible for them. If a third-party service changes or becomes unavailable, related features of the App may change or stop working.

12. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what data the App collects and how we handle it. In short: your photos and videos are edited on your device and are not uploaded to us, the App has no account, we use first-party analytics rather than third-party tracking SDKs, and we do not sell your data. By using the App, you acknowledge the Privacy Policy.

13. Disclaimers

The App and the Service are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that defects will be corrected, or that any result, look, or output will meet your expectations. You use the App at your own discretion and risk, and you are responsible for keeping your own copies of photos and videos you care about. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of the above may not apply to you.

14. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, VNTG and its officers, employees, and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or images, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the App, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for all claims relating to the App or these Terms will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid VNTG (through Apple) for the Subscription in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) USD 50. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you, and nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

15. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless VNTG from any claims, damages, liabilities, and reasonable expenses (including legal fees) arising out of your misuse of the App, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party, including in connection with Your Content.

16. Termination

These Terms apply for as long as you use the App. You may stop using the App and delete it at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the App or the Service, with or without notice, if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the App. On termination, the license in §3 ends and you must stop using the App. Sections that by their nature should survive (for example, §5 ownership, §10, §13, §14, §15, §18, and §19) survive termination. Ending these Terms does not by itself cancel an active App Store Subscription, manage that in your Apple ID settings (see §7).

17. Changes to the App and to these Terms

We are continuously improving the App and may add, change, or remove features. We may also update these Terms. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide a more prominent notice in the App or on our website. Changes are effective when posted. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, stop using the App.

18. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States of America, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence provide otherwise. You and VNTG agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in the State of Delaware for any dispute not subject to those mandatory local protections or to the Apple-required terms in §19.

Nothing in this section deprives you of the protection of mandatory consumer laws that apply where you live, including, for users in the EEA and UK, your statutory consumer rights.

19. Apple-required terms

Because you obtained the App through the Apple App Store, the following terms apply between you and VNTG, and Apple requires them. In case of conflict, these terms control over the rest of this document only as to your relationship with Apple.

  1. Acknowledgement. These Terms are between you and VNTG only, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content. Apple has no obligation to furnish any maintenance or support for the App.

  2. Scope of license. The license granted to you for the App is a limited, non-transferable license to use the App on any Apple-branded products that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions, except that the App may be accessed by other accounts associated with you via Family Sharing or volume purchasing.

  3. Maintenance and support. VNTG is solely responsible for providing any maintenance and support for the App, as specified in these Terms or as required by law. Apple has no obligation to furnish any maintenance and support.

  4. Warranty. VNTG is solely responsible for any product warranties, whether express or implied by law, to the extent not effectively disclaimed. If the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price (if any) for the App. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the App.

  5. Product claims. VNTG, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims by you or a third party relating to the App or your possession and use of it, including product liability claims, claims that the App fails to conform to a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims arising under consumer protection, privacy, or similar legislation.

  6. Intellectual property rights. In the event of a third-party claim that the App or your use of it infringes that third party's intellectual property rights, VNTG, not Apple, is solely responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement, and discharge of that claim.

  7. Legal compliance. You represent and warrant that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated by the U.S. Government as a "terrorist-supporting" country, and that you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.

  8. Developer contact. For questions, complaints, or claims regarding the App, contact VNTG through the in-app Settings → Support.

  9. Third-party terms. You must comply with applicable third-party terms of agreement when using the App (for example, your wireless data plan).

  10. Third-party beneficiary. Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, and upon your acceptance of these Terms, Apple has the right (and is deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.

20. General

  • Entire agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and VNTG about the App and supersede any prior agreements.

  • Severability. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect, and the unenforceable provision will be limited to the minimum extent necessary.

  • No waiver. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of it.

  • Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

  • No agency. Nothing here creates a partnership, agency, or employment relationship.
